Femme Luxe: A Knitted Lux Dress

Orange Cami Knitted Side Split Maxi dress - Thea | Hat | MVMT Sunglasses

Hey gals, I am switching gears today from professional wear and interviews and talking about the hot, hot, hot clothes from Femme Luxe! Femme Luxe gifted me this gorgeous Orange Cami knitted side split dress. You can find it right here in “dresses”. I love pieces like these that are highly versatile, and this dress is definitely one of those! This dress was probably originally made to wear out, but my first wear, I took it out to the beach. I ended up wearing my knitted dress over my swimsuit and even wore it out to dinner that night.  As dresses like these, not only easily transition from day to night depending on how you style them, but also from winter to spring depending on the fabrics. I really loved this as a beach dress. The split up the side really added some flair.

Whether you are a “sweater” dress lover or not, I have a couple of fashion tips and tricks on how to wear a sweater dress right!

They are cute with both sneakers and thigh-high boots in the fall and sandals go perfectly with a summer one like mine. A knitted dress is warm, cozy, and stylish, meaning that it is just the perfect option for the upcoming long and cold winter days. However, the way that this particular one fro Femme Luxe is cut makes it perfect and breathable for summer.

One tip on styling your knit dress is maximize mixing and matching. Think of your solid-hued sweater dresses as a canvas. Accentuate with a jacket or sweater in a statement-making pattern. Break up the look with a solid scarf and tights. Get creative with your layering here. I could defiantly see myself wear this same garment in the fall with a leopard print scarf and a bomber jacket, or maybe even with a G belt,  a leather jacket, and booties.

This summer, I got so many compliments on the gorgeous color of this garment. I call it Orange Crush. For this dress, I would go two sizes up for length and stretch. I think if I order my normal size, it would be much too tight for my liking.

Knitwear dresses are one of this year’s biggest hits, and there’s one great reason behind their success, mainly that you can wear your sweater dress just however you prefer, with whatever you want, and, of course, whenever you like.  That’s why we see them season after season, after season, and year round.

Femme Luxe not only offers luxurious dresses, but they also have many options for a lux combo. They even have lounge wear. I am so in love with the lounge jumpsuits and matching combos. Matching sets are here, and I’m here for it!

Along with lounge wear, Femme Luxe offers, shoes, tops, bottoms, accessories, blazers, tee-shirts, leggings, jumpsuits, active wear and even lingerie. Right now, you can qualify for free shipping to the US by spending $100. Lucky for you, Femme Lux is having a sale right now were EVERYTHING SITEWIDE is 50% off! Students get an extra 10%!

Happy shopping ladies, and keep it luxe!

Chicwish Pleasant Surprises Tiered Crochet Sleeveless Dress in White | H&M Headband | Shoes | Bag | Earrings

I don’t know why, but I've always ben drawn to lace looks. Even my wedding gown was alllllll lace. With this Chicwish layered, tiered design, I have found the perfect lace dress for this summer!

Lace is timeless, romantic, and very stylish. I love this fabric for the texture and femininity. I could go on and on, so here are the TOP reasons why every southern girl needs to own a lace dress.

  1. IT SCREAMS classic southern.

  2. You can edge it up with a leather belt or jacket.

  3. Lace’s calm, cool texture is ideal for summer months.

  4. Embellished black lace can be sexy and sophisticated.

  5. It’s timeless! It doesn’t look like this trend is going anywhere for a long time.

  6. It provokes so many symbols because it is one of the most complex and intricate fabrics to create.

  7. Peek-a-boo, bare-yet-veiled exposure… “There really isn’t any other fabric that can suggest so many different visual assumptions."

  8. Lace and denim is a style match made in heaven. Pair it with denim jackets, jeans, etc….

  9. Just as this Chicwish dress is tiered, layer your lace.

  10. You can wear it year round! Lace isn’t just for the summer months. Layer a chic moto style leather jacket over a midi dress and closed-toe shoes outfit!

Chicwish Chiffon Skirt | Chicwish Bowknot Crop Top

Sometimes the simplest of outfits can wow. This has to be my new favorite duo from Chicwish. I didn’t realize the magic of a chiffon maxi skirt until I took it out to the beach. Chiffon maxis appear light and breezy, making it the perfect piece during the hotter months. The way the wind catches it…. wow!

For the beach, single-layered designs work best. Keep it simple but chic. The high waist of this skirt also completes a gorgeous and flattering appearance. Don’t get me wrong, the beach isn’t the only occasion you can wear this skirt. A chiffon maxi can also work beautifully for casual and evening events. I would wear this to dinner, brunch, even shopping with friends.

PopJulia Button-down Dress | PopJulia Sandals | Hat

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping in today. Today is really the first day in about a month that I have had time to stop and sit down to write a blog post. We have been moving and settling in our new house for the past 4-3 weeks, and today is the first day that I finally feel settled enough to post. Things are still coming together, slowly but surely. Next stop, gallery wall….

I took a break from unpacking boxes two weeks ago to shoot with my bestie, Candice Brown Photography, at the beach. I was so thankful, because she took time away from her family vacation to meet me. We met at the crack of dawn, ok it was really more like 7 a.m., on the beach and we got the best lighting I’ve ever seen.

I was more than thrilled to be able to photograph my new button-down dress from PopJulia. As I have said before, these button-down dresses are my “go-to” for the summer. My closet is filling up with them! It’s a one stop shop for an easy flawless look. The buttons add a hint of vintage as well. I paired my button-down midi with leopard espadrilles from PopJulia as well. These shoes are so stylish and incredibly comfy, that my mom wants to steal them. Sorry Mom, I can’t take these off! It’s the perfect combo for a beach day or vacay getaway.

Thanks PopJulia for the look!

As always, from my NEW closet to yours, thanks for stopping by.

H&M Flounce Sleeve Jersey Top | H&M Jean Shorts Similar | Kate Spade Purse Similar | J.crew Necklace |  Pink Target + Baublebar Earrings

Hello friends! It's a happy Wednesday indeed. This week was back to the full time grind for me! This summer has been so wonderful! I’ve been getting to write more on my blog, update my blog and do daily outfits. I’ve also been able to relax, spend time with my pup, and decompress. I’m ready to see what the new school year brings and start fresh!

On to the fashion...

Why are so many other bloggers already posting fall clothes?  I can't think about fall in the sweltering southern heat! The smell of pumpkin spice right now makes me want to puke! I don't know abut you, but I'm still rocking the summer sweets. I thought this was a really fun combination with the pops of pinks. A pink, well anything pink, is an easy pop of color to style! Pink will add drama to the simplest of outfits, just like this H&M Ruffle Top (that's only $11.00). These Diff pink sunglasses, and these pink tassels from Target are great pops of pink as well. Try mixing  pink with other bright shades for a bolder, brighter look. Long Live Summer!

Swing Pockets Shift Sundress | Karen Walker Sunglasses | Gianni Bini Shoes Similar |Bamboo Handmade Handbag

I've been doing a lot of similar posts lately, but I love my fashion finds on Amazon! Celebrate Prime Day and get a little something extra for yourself! This swing pocket shift sundress is only $7!  ...And no that is not a typo. The quality does not reflect the price either. The fabric is very sturdy; however, it is a little see-through. No worries, just add a slip underneath. This dress also comes in other colors as well. The button-down dresses are all the rage this summer. I love this trend and have linked many similar dresses below. My bamboo bag is also from Amazon. It's a designer dupe for only $38!

These pictures were taken at Little Point Clear in Fairhope, Alabama. It's an overnight guest space and reception area for weddings or any event! This place is most charming!  It has got everything you need for an event- all in one. The reception area is beautiful, which can transform easily to meet your event's needs and theme. Plus the back yard is adorable! The guest rooms are just to die for, with their classy coastal design: shiplap, hardwood floors, and modern coastal artwork. If you are wanting to get married around the Fairhope area or even have a super chic party, this is the perfect spot to house your guests and have your event!

Stripe Print Sleeveless Long Jumpsuit | H&M Shoes Similar Here | Bamboo Handbag | Karen Walker Sunglasses

Hey gals! Another Amazon Fashion find today! Introducing the stripe print jumpsuit! IT'S ONLY $23! P.S. This jumpsuit comes in other colors as well-blue and pink! I almost go the pink one...

I literally do not own but one other jumpsuit, but his one is really flattering! It accentuates my waist and flares out at the legs. It's also very easy to move in. I went out for a fun night in this jumpsuit with my friends the other weekend and got SOOOO many compliments! People were coming up asking were I bought it, as I was laying down some moves on the dance floor! I won't lie to you though, it's is not the easiest to go to the bathroom in! The look is totally worth it though.

Not sure if you can pull off a jumpsuit?

Style tips:

1. Wear a little heel if your jumpsuit has a wider leg. Jumpsuits' length can come right above your ankle. If you don't want to look super short, wear heels and elongate your legs. Simple straps are best.

2. Vertical stripes elongate your body. Vertical lines let your eyes move easily up and down without any interruption.

3. Skin tight jumpsuits can sometimes be less flattering. Don't go all leotard on me.  I like this one because it hugs my waist, but also fits loose around my legs, kinda giving it an A-line feel.

4. Try jumpsuits with a open back for an extra flare! It will also keep you cool in the summertime.

5. Start out with a solid color at first if your feel hesitant. Black is best! Then add a statement necklace.

Yellow Tie Midi Dress | Michael Kors Shoes Similar | Bamboo Handbag | Oversized Straw Hat | Karen Walker Sunglasses

I am trying my hardest to shop on a budget this summer,  so I decided to give Amazon Fashion a try.  Boy, was I surprised! I've bought a couple of pieces from Amazon in the past few weeks - all great quality for a even better price!  This is the first look from Amazon Fashion that is definitely discussion worthy. Can I also add that this dress is ONLY 18$!

I couldn't be happier that the midi dress is shifting back into the closets of women everywhere ...and going strong.  A lot of girls think they can't pull off the longer lines, but girl, yes you can!

Here are a few tips for wearing the Midi:

1. Choose a midi that hits you mid-calf. Length is key! A dress that hits any lower could make you look shorter. Plus, if the length goes longer that mid-calf... it's not a midi. Try a midi right below the knee if you are hesitant.

2. Wear lighter fabrics. Heavier fabrics can weight you down and sometimes make you look, well, heavier. Try fabrics that breath and move. In the summer months, you'll especially want to wear lighter fabrics anyway. It makes for a light and airy look. Let it flow!

3. Select an A-line silhouette with a form fitting waist. You can really accentuate your waist with an A-line midi. Because it fits tighter around your midsection and flairs out of the bottoms, it makes such a classic figure.  Also, wearing the same color throughout top to bottom can really elongate your body.

4. Wear shoes that elongate the legs. Try to avoid shoes that have thick straps and straps that go up your ankles and legs.  They tend to chop you off-making you look rather stubby. You can never go wrong peep toe pumps with this look. The good thing is that the lines of this dress assuredly draw attention towards your feet. It's perfect for when you want to show off your shoe game.  But hey, if the length of your legs is not an issue, try your midi with cute sneakers or ballerina flats! Those can work as well. I love to "casual up" a dress with sneaks!

The basic & original superstars come in black and white, which make it easy to pair with a variety of outfits because of the colors. I also have these in solid white, and I can say the same for them as well. I cannot think of one thing that you couldn't wear these with. I guess the reason they have stuck around this long is because of their versatility.  These are the new "old" shoe of the season. You can wear them with a tee and a skirt like me, a t-shirt dress, cut-off shorts, or boyfriend jeans. Plus, they are super comfortable.  An outfit centered around these shoes is my favorite way to be stylish and comfortable at the same time.

J. Crew Red Cotton-linen apron dress | Gianni Bini Shoes Similar | Turquoise Necklace Similar | Karen Walker Sunglasses

Do you remember my post from a couple of days ago with the seersucker dress? I loved it so much that I went back and bought it in red.  It's on sale for 44$ and I'm so in love (linked above and below).

Fashion designer Bill Blass has been known for saying, “Whenever in doubt, wear red.” That's a quote I will live by. And I’ll admit, there really is nothing in the world like a red dress to make one feel just a little bit sexier.  Even if it's a cute red sundress like this one.

FYI, Red is ALWAYS in style. Here are a couple of reasons why you need a red dress right now!

1. Red symbolizes physical energy, passion, and desire- As I learned in my 12th grade Literature class. This must be why you instantly feel sexier when you slip into that little red number.

2. Red is timeless- There is real photographic evidence that this color NEVER goes out of style.

3. Red dresses are just down right sexy and romantic- Making it perfect for date night.

4. When worn correctly, there is power in a red dress.

5. A red dress will help you stand out, in a good way.

6. Wearing red can make you fee more confident. It may give you a competitive edge.

Try the red dress effect and see for yourself!

Contrary to popular belief, gingham does NOT say "farm girl" anymore! Gingham is now the "it" print of Spring 2018! If you're on Instagram (which I know you are) gingham is the uniform for most fashionistas year round! I love the gingham trend because you can dress it up and make it classy for the office, or dress it down for a casual weekend look. Try a gingham skirt and a graphic tee, or gingham pants with a ruffled top.

I took this look a little to the edgy street style side with my Sam Edelman York Studded Sandals.  My gingham dress is linked below and is from ASOS. I'm wearing a size 4.

J. Crew Seersucker Dress | Karen Walker Sunglasses | J. Crew Pearls | Gianni Bini Shoes Similar

I love how some say they associate seersucker and the seersucker suit with the Alabama Lawyer. My husband is a lawyer, sometimes works in Mobile, and I LOVE it when he wears his seersucker suit. Even when he pairs his seersucker pants it with a white button-down, I drool. If you're from the south, you must own some form of seersucker. I won't get into the the history of seersucker in the south, but it gets HOT down here!

When going to a June Wedding in 90 degree weather, it isn't easy to stay polished! This soft cotton material is exceptionally breathable and actually wrinkle-resistant.  Seersucker provides colorful, classic, and stylish options in Southern social scenes that keeps us cool. I think the blue pattern is the most classic. Overall, seersucker is the quintessential summer fabric for southerners. Its class, breathability, and feminine appearance make it the perfect ensemble for ladies of the South -so invest in some! I'm so in love with this J.crew dress that I think I'm going back to buy it in the solid red linen. It's on sale now! I wore this to church today. Just click the link below or above to buy. Stay cool my friends!

Red Dress Swimsuit | Do not Disturb Beach Hat

A couple of years ago I watched Diana from the Red Dress Boutique on Shark Tank. Ever since that moment I have been inspired to chase my dreams. Reading her story was one event that helped me get motivated to start my own online boutique. I started researching and I finally decided to go for it… Have you stopped by the boutique yet? It is a lot of work but I love every part of it.

Anyway, I finally decided to order something from the much respected The Red Dress Boutique as I saw this AMAZING swimsuit on their feed. I am obsessed with the nude illusion, polka-dotted lace. I feel like a movie star in the South of France when I wear this one. It’s definitely blog worthy.
